FAQs
Each item is made by hand and built to order, our current production turnaround is approximately 1–3 weeks. This timeframe covers the crafting and assembly of your pieces prior to dispatch and does not include transit time once the package leaves our shop.
We always aim to complete orders within this window; however, production may take additional time during high-volume periods or seasonal demand. If you’d like an update on your order at any point, you’re welcome to reach out and we’ll be happy to assist.
Unworn classic collars in new condition may be eligible for return. Items must show no signs of use, damage, or wear.
As each piece is handcrafted specifically to order, we’re unable to offer general returns or size exchanges on most products. Exceptions are made only in cases covered under our warranty policy.
To avoid sizing issues, we strongly recommend measuring carefully before placing your order. For dog collars, ensure you have an accurate neck measurement prior to purchase.
Our products feature chrome-plated solid brass hardware. Because this is a plated finish, natural wear will occur over time. With regular use, the chrome layer may gradually fade, revealing the solid brass base beneath.
For customers selecting gold-tone hardware — we use true solid brass. This means the colour is inherent to the metal itself and will not chip, peel, or flake like plated alternatives.
It’s important to note that solid brass develops a natural patina as it ages. Oxidation may create grey or green tarnish, which can transfer onto Biothane®, particularly on lighter strap colours. Martingale-style collars may also leave temporary discoloration on a dog’s coat, most noticeably on white or light fur.
These marks are cosmetic, non-toxic, and can be removed with routine cleaning.
To clean tarnish transfer:
• Use a melamine sponge (magic eraser) or a small amount of rubbing alcohol
• Gently wipe the affected area
• Wash the product afterward with soap and water
• Rinse thoroughly before returning it to use
•
Regular hardware polishing can also help minimize oxidation buildup if desired.
